Our Promise to the Community
Through shared vision, resources and commitment to excellence, the Virgil & Josephine Gordon Memorial Library will accomplish its mission of enhancing the quality and scope of public library service to the citizens of the city of Sealy and the surrounding area. The Library will provide materials and services to help community residents obtain information meeting their personal, educational, and professional needs. Special emphasis is placed on supporting students at all academic levels and on stimulating young children’s interests and appreciation for reading and learning.

Library Card
All Austin County residents are entitled to a free library card. Proof of residency (Driver’s licenseor utility bill) is required. Non-residents may obtain a library card for a fee of $20 per annum. Replacement cards are available for a $1 fee.
Any teacher employed by the local school district, but not a resident of Austin County, may also obtain a free library card.
